Following the release of the highly anticipated Marvel sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, both moviegoers and critics have praised the picture.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Xochitl Gomez, Rachel McAdams, and others star as prominent superhero avatars in the film.

The movie has accelerated the turmoil of the multiverse by expanding the MCU’s multiversal terrain.

Cumberbatch said in an interview during his press tour for the film that he was contacted for a different part in the MCU before being cast as the sorcerer supreme.

He was first approached for a much smaller role in Chris Hemsworth’s Thor: The Dark World.

Cumberbatch said, “[The Doctor Strange role] happened as an idea muted after, funnily enough, another little dance I did for another character in the MCU, a very brief character.”

According to him, “I was bold enough to say, ‘I’m really flattered to be invited to the party, but I’d rather hold out for something a bit more juicy.'”

The actor was approached for the role of Malekith, the villain in the Thor sequel, but he declined.

Benedict went on to play Doctor Strange in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, and has since featured in huge blockbusters including Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Now, his own sequel has surpassed the box office and the expectations of the film’s horror aficionados.
